AntlerObsession Report post Posted April 3, 2011 I know, I know. Why Morenci, other than working for the mine? The Coues, The Cats, and the Coyotes! Im excited for the opportunities, and wanted to ask if there were any Gila Valley hunters on here. Wanting to get started on calling and trapping without stepping on toes, you know, horning in on anyone's territory. Any places to avoid? Is there a Safford predator hunting club? Ive hunted the eastern side of 31 and know of 4 coyotes that won't be taken any fawns this year, but I'm not familiar with the areas north of Safford. Any hints would be more than appreciated! P.S. I'm game for teaming up on a Sat. morning to neutralize some predators if anyone else is up to it.

AZ RANGER Report post Posted April 3, 2011 Here is the local sportsman club http://seazsc.org/ There is not a predator club that I am aware of, but I think they do a predator contest every year. Welcome to "the real" valley. I love it here.

Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted April 4, 2011 Look me up when you get here. Better not pass that offer up!!!! Great country down there, hope the move is good for you. Not that is has anything to do with hunting, but I know they have a bunch of tough kids wrestling for them on their high school team. Good luck.

I wrestled in high school, and want to help out wherever I can with the local teams! Love to help toughen up these young men! Are you involved in your local wrestling programs? Safford is one of the best wrestling programs in the state right now, Coach Harmon and his assistants have done a great job with the program. The thing that impressed me with Morenci this year is the crowd of supporters they had in the stands at state over in Prescott Valley, plus their kids just wrestled tough. I coach here at Snowflake, I am really just the organizer of the program, make sure they have food to eat,a good schedule, good technicians and take the heat from parents when needed. I have some good technicians that come in and take care of that part of the program. I am sure glad I have people willing to come in and help or else it couldn't happen without them.
