7E shed hunting help

Recommended Posts

I like going out to 7e since its pretty close to flag but i am having some some problems getting into the sheds.I been trying lower and been coming up empty besides a few. areas where the elk were during the rut and even the late hunt Arnet producing. Any one have any info on this unit? maybe do some info trading????? How high up are the elk right now? Watched a heard of about 200 cows but haven't seen 1 bull after going out 4 days.

Or maybe this unit just doesnt hold the populations as 6, 10, 5s? so less sheds

Ive never had really great luck in finding sheds in 7E but over the past years have slowly learned on where to look. Without giving up any of my spots all ill say is think of bedding areas. look at some north facing slopes and canyons and if you look at areas where it makes you think to yourself "That area really looks like it would suck to hike up into" thats a good place to start....

As far as elevation, we havent gotten the snow like years past so they might be a little higher up the hill. Ive found sheds in the past at 8500-9000 ft.
