Coues79 Report post Posted December 5, 2005 I was just reading about the huge buck that Mason killed(congrats by the way that mother is huge) and seeing all of the continuous crap comments really was aggravating. If I was him I would have pulled the pics and told them to stuff it. I have noticed the last several months that there have been some real jerks signing up and posting on the topics. What really kills me is when some dumb a** doubts the credibility of another hunter or that hunters deer Back in the day when I was living in Flagstaff I had some friends both of which killed monster elk, one with a rifle and one with a bow in consecutive years. Well one of them had people calling his house and telling him they were going to report him for poaching it at night , killing it before the season, all that good stuff, the other was accused of arrowing his bull on the res and pulling it over the fence. It is hard for me to believe the crap that the jealous and envious will step in to make an honest person look bad. these are other hunters for crying out loud! granted there are some shady guys but come on! I will tell you that I for one do not doubt for a minute the integrity of any person who posts pictures on this site for all of us to enjoy, I do however doubt that of the morons, jerks, butt heads, etc and ETC who try to make them look bad. Seems to me that I remember in the long ago days when I was at NAU my Psych teacher telling us that the people who have problems with jealousy and etc and falsely accuse people of things, actually do that because they know that they themselves would do the things that they are accusing other people of. I think he was 100% correct. So to all of the worthless morons who degrade our site dedicated to the most beautiful of the big game animals--- Join the forum at www. A**holes .com and leave us alone!!! Better yet get into politics your crap will fly much better with ilk of your own kind. And to all of the lucky, skilled hunters who bag game and post it you guys ROCK and many thanks to you who take the time to post and befriend one another and make this the fraternity it is supposed to be!! I'm brand new to the website and for someone to come to fresh into it and read all the crap that has been said about Mace's buck is pretty ridiculous. He's my brother and I think I would have been the first one to talk crap about his buck if it weren'f for real. But it's real. I consider myself a pretty dang good hunter but my hat's off to him for being an even better one than me or anyone else I know. I like to focus on the positive so I'll tell about something I saw the other day that makes me a proud member of this site. I was driving North on the Loop 101 in Chandler after work when I noticed a big truck on the side of the road helping another vehicle. It was a newer model Ford, F-250 I think, with a nice big COUESWHITETAIL.COM sticker across the back window. I wish I saw it in time to stop and say hi and see if I could help out. But it made me feel real good to know that in these forums I am associating with that kind of people, and I believe that most people in here are "that" kind of people . Now some people, including myself, doubted the score at first based on the first photo posted and some people said the buck looked different in some way. Well yes it does look different cause probably 90% of us have never seen a coues deer any were near the size of this remarkable deer. So I have to dissagree that there has been a bunch of bashing of Mace and his buck. Hopefully Mace gets his buck score for B&C so the buck can be reconized as the true MONSTER that he is. Chef Report post Posted December 6, 2005 Most people that enjoy hunting/fishing and the outdoors are what I call "good people." I have met several people including some that I can call very good friends online from hunting forums. One thing that we need to keep in mind is that whatever you post, whether a story or pictures, you better have a thick skin for scrutiny. This is the internet with many people behind keyboards ranting and such. Some people will in fact degrade others for whatever reason. If you agree, then fine. If you don't, well, it's best to ignore them. Many times they want to get a rise out of everyone, which is generaly what happens. Thats when moderators come in. Although an overly moderated forum is a big turn off for most. You can't be naive and think that everyone is nice and funny and will love anything that has to do with everything you like to do. It wasn't posted by the hunter and as we all know alot of animals every year are rumored to score alot higher than they really are. No one said it wasn't a monster or a toad. If your going to post it, than folks have the right to comment... The difference with Mace's buck was that he didn't post it, someone else did, And the poster didn't know the guy who killed the buck, And the score was based on rumor... I don't think there was any malace in the posters actions, or anyone that was questioning the score...I don't think it's downplaying anyone's trophy at all to question a score, it's just conversation, and isn't that what we're here for? I do agree that bashing is wrong... But, there are some people on these sites that have an extremely thin skin, and any time you disagree with them your bashing them... On the megahunter6969 on AZOD, I was the only one that said anything about his buddy's bull, and what I said was "I don't know about 360"... In his reply he explained that they hadn't deducted for a broken tine, and that SCI was well at 360... That was all I said, or anyone else, (to my knowledge), about the score... Not that it matters here... megeahunter if I offened you I am sorry, and I did not mean any offense, I did not mean to "bash" you... You do have to admit it wasn't that great of a pic...
