.270 Report post Posted December 5, 2005 it's still just a midget deer tho. i've shot a buncha mediocre muleys that were all bigger than that dink. heck, the littlest elk i ever shot was bigger than that. and i shot it with a bow. lefthanded. and with one eye closed. Coues79 Report post Posted December 5, 2005 That's an excellent story. It truly makes you feel like you were there when it all happened. I wish I would have had that chance at that caliber of buck. I just wish he would have been only in the 120's so it might seem realistic to top him. It will probably take a lot of time and a lot of water in the hills to match him. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent story. CochranJ

COOSEFAN Report post Posted December 7, 2005 I haven't been on for a while and just read through how this thing exploded! I did make a comment on what I thought the buck scored based on a pic' of a head on a bench. I just read the story and saw the great in-field pic's and definitely change my mind. Mace, that is truly a monster, and great story of perseverance, and dedication to back it up! To have the huge body and you in the pic with it for comparison really puts it into perspective! I never said anything disrespectful, and never would, just made a guess on score based on a bad pic. I don't remember anybody sayin' anything bad about it at that time, actually complete opposite! I did see the B.S. that is on here now and they're just jealous. Ignore the bad feedback and enjoy that incredible buck! It definitely sounds like you deserve it! What a monster! Congrats!!!! JIM <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for the compliments coosefan. I was hoping the pics and story would help clarify some of the questions about his size. For me he is the buck of a lifetime. Dont get me wrong though..... I'm gonna keep looking for another one! Maybe a 4-point next time, or a nontypical, or a,well you get the picture. Anyways thanks again and best of luck on your hunts.
