DEERSLAM Report post Posted December 2, 2005 These field photos make it much easier to see truly how BIG this buck really is. Those pics of the head on a work bench sure don't do him any justice. Mason, sorry you took it personal that some of use didn't think he was 134 by looking at the first pic of your buck. Didn't mean to disrespect you or the deer, just going by the pic provided at that time. Congrats on taking a true trophy of a lifetime.
couesdiehard Report post Posted December 2, 2005 Mason, I couldn't see the previously posted photos so these field photos are the first I've seen. I don't know what was wrong with the originally posted shots but the field photos say it all. UNFREAKIN' BELEIVABLE! I have no problem believing 134"+. My wife and son start their hunts on the 16th and I am going nuts with anticipation after seeing some of the bucks taken in the area this season. Kudos to you and that tremendous animal! Please e-mail the story to Amanda so we can all drool over the details. Lee

azhuntnut Report post Posted December 2, 2005 That is a very nice buck indeed. As for them Safford boys, I have hunted near the Safford area for the last couple years and have had the honor of meeting some of the nicest people around. Its a nice change when you get out of the Phx area and see how laid back folks are in the small towns. The hunters there are more than happy to pass along hunting info and areas to hunt. One gentleman I met even let me leave my fifth wheel at his house for a month while I hunted bear. Mason, enjoy your great deer. I was going through the same feelings back in September. crazyaboutcoues Report post Posted December 2, 2005 Mason...first of all congradulations on a once in ten lifetimes Couesdeer. I was the one who posted the initial picture of your buck. It was fowarded to me by a buddy of mine that works at the Morenci mine. He asked me if I had heard anything about this buck. After seeing the giant, I had to post it here to see if anyone knew the story behind this beast. I apologize if it stirred things up. I don't really think anyone really bad mouthed your mammoth , I think it's just hard to believe a 134" Coues Gargantua. I knew it was at least 130" when i first saw it. hehe THAT'S MY STORY AND I'M STICKING TO IT. There is another 130 class buck pictured on monstermuleys in the coues section. Talk about a freaking HOOOOOGGGGGG!!!! Congradulations again Mason.

I didn't post that picture, and I wouldn't have put it on because I agree that it does not do him justice. Thanks for the comments though. Best of luck on your hunts bud. Redman Report post Posted December 2, 2005 You know being from San Manuel and competing with those Safford boys you tend to take what they say with a grain of salt. But a picture is worth a 1000 words. That is one awesome buck. Are you sure that thing did not come from Texas? Redman
