Arizona Elk Society Banquet tomorrow

i wish i had been able to hear the story better , too many loudmouths wouldnt shut up,,,,,, it was an awsome time and i really hope they do better on the expensive meal next year......was there a reason the desert was sitting out at 400 when the doors opened, i think thats what made me sick,, or maybe it was the raw steak, or the dried out chicken,,,,,,,,or maybe the dressing for salad.....i cant pin it down....cbryant

Funny, cause I got three texts that night wondering what I thought of the meal as we were eating! Everyone stated the same thing, they only ate the dinner because they were starving. It was terrible. I don't expect five star by any means but that food was a huge disappointment.

 

 

...it felt kinda like an online dating deal where you meet for the first time...

 

That's funny cause it's so true. Kinda weird when someone asks you how you met your bud, and you say, "oh we met online" LOL!

I saw Amanda with her bright green shirt, and just chickened out, sorry Amanda. I was with "another" table and thought I might get beaten up if I came by. I was sitting next to Double Buck (Rick). The desert was alright, but I got bummed when they took the water pitcher early. By the way, did anyone try the mints that were on the table?

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have let the banquet chairperson know about the food complaints.I hope that everyone that attended the banquet had a great time other than when than when it came time to eat.I can bet this will not be a problem next year , because I will not let them forget about the complaints.

Thanks Mark....you might actually see about getting some sort of refund for the AES. I know they pay for those meals and there is no way they got the meal they intended to get.

Amanda, I do not know if they can get any refund . What I do need is for everyone who attended and has a complaint about the dinner or any other issue to please post it on this site . I will print out the complaints and send them to the banquet chairperson so they will have something to show the person responsible for the meals . AQs I said before sorry about the meals and other things everyone had issues with .

easy solution to the food - set-up with who ever did the ADA banquet last yr. that meal was the best I've ever had plus the desert was awesume - just my .02

Steak was over cooked, and the chicken was dry. It would have been nice to have a real steak knife instead of a butter knife. It was a disappoinment to have the water taken away very early in the evening. I was pleased with the desert they had, but question why it was placed on the table before the event started. I hate to complain, but if it helps then so be it.

Mark, you asked for specific complaints, so here you go:

 

My steak wasn't overcooked, but it was very tough and the flavor was unpleasant (not just bland, but an unpleasant almost "gone bad" flavor). Chicken was hard on the edges and dry overall, maybe one bite was tender in the interior. The potatoe tasted as if it was previously frozen. The green beans were good!! I enjoyed those!

 

The salad was good, dressings were good. The desert was not worth eating, it was bland and dried out on the edges (perhaps from being left out on the table for more than an hour before the meal even started).

 

We did have plenty of service people coming by refilling drinks and taking away plates. They were pretty quick with that.

 

I hate to post stuff like this because I know how hard everyone works at the banquet and I still think regardless of the food, the banquet was a huge success! You know most of us don't go there expecting to have a great meal, we go to support wildlife conservation.

at our table the steaks were raw in the middle and cold on the outside, the chicken was dry, the dessert cake was not good and it was sitting out since 400pm the potato was good but small, they took the water too soon, the salad was not good either,,,

 

 

Yes the steak and chicken sucked. I did like the potato with gravy but thats about it PLUS i was hungry.

 

If they would have gave us real steaks the butter knife should work!!

 

 

People come to enjoy themselves and most spent big$$$ - a decent - hot meal is not too much to ask
