here are a few examples of the ramifications of "feel good laws" like this one

leg hold traps banned in Az on public ground - varmint population has soared and game populations decreased

lion hunting ban in Cal - more lions are killed now as nuisance/dangerous by G&F than were killed by hunters before the law

wolves in Wy, Id, Mt - only took wolves 20 years to wipe out 100 years of conservation efforts for deer, elk, moose

I support All forms of hunter opportunity, even if they are not for me.

this is exactly right. We have enough enemies of our sport with out bickering amongst our selves.

If anyone spent half the hours I have on feed they would appreciate all the animals and birds that benefit not mentioning the enjoyment it brings watching wildlife on the trail cams and 10yrds up close and personal is why I voted no. :)

Doesn't seem like hunting to me, just shooting.

I am tired of more and more regulation... If I support it or not. I'm not a smoker, but I think a bar owner should let people smoke inside HIS bar if he wants to. This is not just in refernce to hunter laws. It seems in every aspect in my life. Just leave EVERYTHING alone for a while. Land of the free? Please. Way too much government in our lives. I need to get a permit to cut a downed log into firewood in the NF. I was watching This Old House the other day, and a homeowner in Boston along the Charles River COULD NOT remove poison ivy from his yard because it is a histoic/protected area. He could not remove one weed from his own yard. My grandfather is probably rolling around in his grave right now.

Sorry that was a little long winded.

Please post below in One Phrase, why you voted the way you did. Or you can choose to vote and not say... Lets NOT on debate on this thread. We should just lay our best reason on the line and vote. It will be interesting how many different reasons we can show for and against. Please remember that we are all hunters and we all have passion for our sport, keep it clean and to the point... ONE PHRASE! ;)

I will let the picture talk. We sometimes forget that there is others that are not so lucky!!

There was not an option for undecided so I voted in support of the ban. I have never baited, hunted from a blind or stand. I have to admit I am not up to speed on the current regulations regarding baiting of any big game other than bear but believe there should be regulations on it. I do agree there is a challenge enforcing the law but there is also a challenge enforcing many of the existing laws including the taking game illegaly. I am going to educate myself more on the topic to try to change my mind but I do not feel baiting and unaturally changing a deers natural pattern (assuming baiting may do so) provides the challenge that I feel hunting should have. I am not even sure I am for it in the case to provide challenged hunters an increased opportunity.

In this poll, I was one of the 'yes' votes. The reason was because I didn't have a choice to break down the nuances of baits (salt, corn, water, donuts, etc..........).

In AZ, we can't hunt bears over barrels of donuts & other trash, so I suppose we already have a ban on baiting that not many (at least not many on this site....) have complained about. So if you think about it, we already have a ban on baiting. It just didn't hit the soft spot that we have on this site..... I don't want to see bears baited with donuts & old cooking grease.

The argument of 'un-enforceble laws' doesn't hold water IMO. If that were the case, then there would be NO laws at all! There are not enough DPS officers to catch all speeders, and not enough other cops to catch all of the law-breakers out there for SO many laws already, but that doesn't mean they are not good laws. My personal opinion, I suppose.

:)

PS: I think there should be a law that says any hunter with a child should take them hunting as often as they can! And I mean that! ;)
