robert123 Report post Posted March 2, 2011 Ok, tjhunt2 here is my idea and opinion asking for a percent of sales is a little off base but how about this. I’m sure a lot of members have not been able to sell everything that they have posted, including me. What if we donate some of these items to Amanda who can auction them off with the proceeds going to a worthy charity? I can think of several including maybe this web site, Wounded Vets, etc. If Amanda agrees, I know I would gladly participate. We really could start something good here. CouesWhitetail Report post Posted March 2, 2011 You might recall we just finished up a donation drive for Phoenix Children's Hospital and we will likely do more of those. An auction might be a good way to make those more fun. I am not sure if there are any laws governing online auctions...anyone know? I think TJ's point is that if you are making money off this site, why not donate a small portion back to the site to help support it? I know I sure appreciate it when people help out. Every year I give away thousands of dollars in donations, prizes, stickers and such to CouesWhitetail.com members and to other conservation groups/charities. I am happy to do all that because I think it makes the site more fun and gives us a bigger purpose by helping other groups/charities. I don't think TJ is saying everyone has to donate, but if you feel you want to, it sure helps. Anyone who donates can always designate where they want the money to go (ie, to the annual coues buck contest, or to the next charity drive, or to a fishing tournament, or coueswhitetail.com get together or to just general support of the site). CouesWhitetail Report post Posted March 2, 2011 Why not add an option to become a premium member of the website and pay a certain amount when signing up? Does that have something to do with licensing for the website? Say someone pays a certain annual amount and gets a t shirt and premium member listing under their avatar or something similar to that? I think it's easy enough to set up, I just haven't done it. I like keeping everything as free as possible for members, but perhaps having an Optional premium membership is a good idea...thanks! TJ Got it!! thank you Tucson John! anyone wishing to donate can do so using the yellow donate button located on the main coueswhitetail.com page in the lefthand margin, under the menu. Or just log into your paypal acct and send the money to amanda@coueswhitetail.com. FYI - to use the paypal donate button you do not have to have a paypal acct. If you don't like doing online payments, you can always email me for more options.

Thank you Amanda for clearing that up. That is exactly what I meant. I apologied on itd2004's post for not being more clear with my reply and should not have replied on his post with my opinion. I see now how it must have sounded and I regret my reply but with that said I still feel a portion of sales would be appreciated and not everyone should feel obligated to donate with due respect of their financial situation. Please except my apologies. TJ

Santana Outdoors Report post Posted March 3, 2011 Its a great idea, like TJ said its another opportunity for people that can and want to donate. I've had to dump items for food before and couldn't of donated. I do not think that is what this is about. Donate if you can or want to and if not don't feel obligated.
