Kilimanjaro Report post Posted March 2, 2011 I just saw this cat an hr ago at the G&F office.. The hunter brought me another one from the outfitter (a diff hunter from last week) that I'm mounting so we could check in both at the same time. really good tom. Congrats Sam and HURRY and get that thing to your taxi and get that hide off!!
COUESAZ Report post Posted March 3, 2011 Scotty was that not the most perfect cat you have ever seen. as far as i could see this beast did not have a war wound on him. Sam is a lucky man to have got the call in on this cat. he will have a trophy of a lifetime mounted in his house.
elkster9 Report post Posted March 3, 2011 I would have loved to get in on this hunt. I wasnt too sure about it though as BloodTrail was a new member. I guess it turned out to be awesome though.

ChasinTail Report post Posted March 3, 2011 hey everyone. We want to clear up some confusion. We called bloodtrail telling him we had a calf kill, and if he knew anyone that would want to come hunt. We were unaware of his post above until yesterday, and we have spoken with him about it. He was not asked to post this, nor was the information correct. We typically give a discount for a deal like this, mostly because we realize that it's last minute, you're going to have to take unplanned time off work, and most likely have to drive down overnight. This hunt was not $1,000. Like I said, we've spoken with bloodtrail, and he has apologized. For those that are curious, this lion weighed in at 141 lbs, NOT 151 as was previously stated. Here's a picture of the lion and the hunter.

elkster9 Report post Posted March 4, 2011 Awesome Cat! So what does a last minute hunt like this sell for?
WFGinNM Report post Posted March 4, 2011 Finding a lion and enjoying the hunt with dogs is just amazing. I'm smiling knowing someone that may have never lion hunted got to experience why we hunt with dogs. That cat sure ate well, looks like a 120 lb cat with 21 lbs of calf. But, a dead lion is a whole lot of live Coues' GREAT DAY!!!!! It has one heck of a melon head, any idea what it "greened" at? Keep those dogs running. --BIll
