cmc Report post Posted February 24, 2011 36A, B & C RANCH CLEAN UP WHEN: February 26th and 27th 2011, 8:00 AM start. Lunch will be provided by the AZ Chapter of the Safari Club International at Camp from 11am-1pm. Please RSVP so we can provide enough food. WHO: Hunters Who Care Volunteers and any other dedicated outdoorsman who want to clean up our desert. This event is put on in partnership with the Arizona Game and Fish Department, Pima County Parks and Recreation, the Arizona Chapter of the Safari Club International, and most importantly, the volunteers who care about cleaning up desert and wildlife habitat that has been impacted by immigration issues. WHAT: Our goal for this clean up is to pick up trash on ranches in Game Management Units 36A & B including the Marley and Sopori Ranches. However, we are not limited to those areas and volunteers can clean up wherever they would like. WHERE: The Hunters Who Care Camp will be on the Batamote Rd 1 mile north of Arivaca Rd. From Tucson take I-19 south to Amado. Turn west on Arivaca Rd and go 5 miles to the Batamote Rd, then north to camp. Trash Bags and Dumpsters will be available at the campsite. HOW: Volunteers are encouraged to look for trash anywhere they want. If anyone would like to report locations of litter concentrations due to immigration in 36A, B or C, please contact us. If anyone needs any additional accommodations, dumpsters or trailers in different areas, trash bags before the event, please contact Mark Frieberg in advance. cmc Report post Posted February 27, 2011 We had a great time and boy did my kids put in some serious work. I'm very proud of them with all they did today. To top it off they won a Sportsman's gift card in the raffle today. They sure deserve it! I think we need to add Ranch Clean Up titles to the shits instead of just shed hunting... I put them in those on purpose so I could spot them as we wandered around picking up trash. By lunch one of the dumpsters was full... Awesome work with being short handed on turn out. My kids were zonked before we hit the highway...
cmc Report post Posted February 27, 2011 We didn't got with the big group as we got down late and missed the group. Instead we joined up with a buddy of mind and his dog. We went to a spot he knew always has trash. Not the mother load by any means but two adults and two kids still filled up the back of a truck. Here is quick stop and a before we got to work... Here is the after... Once the truck was filled we piled it in and on top of my jeep...
