I was at Murphy's yesterday, There was a Remington 700 there, moderatly priced in the used gun rack. It's pretty clean, give them a call, see if they still have it, save the driving trip if it's not what you are looking for.

I have a winchester model 70 243. I haven't used in a few years. My two kids used it for elk and javellina...I will be going through Tucson this weekend if you are interested. My cell is 480-467-9058. I can email pics if you want.

I would recommend looking into a Ruger #1. Single shot rifle will teach kid to make the first shot count. Low recoil, light weight, and easy to operate.

start hitting pawnshops, if you find one you like come back a week later with a bore light and check out the bore, haggle on the price, you should never pay what the sticker says in a pawnshop.
