standman Report post Posted February 14, 2011 My dad and I hit the lake this morning searching for crappie. We actually found some in an area all to ourselves away from the flotilla (36 or so boats). We ended up catching 16 crappie. Should of had around 23 but we let to many get away. Most were caught in 20-21ft of water. Most fish were suspended in 9 to 15ft of water. They were caught on road runners with BBC and Chart. Shad kalin grubs tipped with minnows. Water temperature was 48 when we got on the water and rose to 52 when we left. It was a beautiful day on the water with no wind and nice temperatures. We enjoyed the day and had a lot of fun. Brian

luv2fish Report post Posted February 14, 2011 Nice job Brian! A lot of that Flotilla were members of the AZ Crappie Association out there for a meeting and get together. Won't be long before Roosevelt will be as hot as SC. San Carlos always turns on first. Good luck, and keep your bait wet.
