KILLDEER Report post Posted February 12, 2011 After a week of anticipation and sleepless nights from being excited for my Vortex order to show up, it finally came in and it was downhill from there. I ordered a pair of 15x56 Kaibab’s and a Razor HD spotting scope with the digital camera adapter. At six o’clock tonite UPS finally showed up, all day I have been pacing around like an anxious little kid on Christmas eve only to be disappointed. I opened the spotting scope and out of the box there was a chip in the eye piece glass. Oh well I guess it happens. I guess I will be able exercise the awesome warranty that comes with them right out of the box. I was planning on breaking the scope in this weekend on a pig hunt, that’s what really upsets me about this whole ordeal. I sure hope the Vortex optics hold to their name in the field. Has this happened to anyone else? Who is using the Kaibab’s or the Razor and how are they working out for you? Have you had any Issues with them? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
elkaholic Report post Posted February 12, 2011 though i have never owned a vortex product - It makes one wonder if this item was damaged in shipping or just a product that passed through anyway- A chip should have been noticed during inspection or if it happened after -it should have been reported. dings or dents maybe but a chipped lense -!!?? I'm sure vortex has great products and a great warranty - sorry ya got to wait all over agin! now it will be - i hope this one isn't chipped or damaged! - bummer !- Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
oz31p Report post Posted February 12, 2011 I called them and told them that I had scratched the lens on my vipers. They replaced them and shiiped them on their dime. 6day turn around. For safteys sake ill hold on to the kaibabs for you.lol Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

They are over nighting me a new eye piece, scope cover and some free goodies for the inconvenience. I cant wait to try the vortex products in the field this weekend.
