Girls Shoot Better Report post Posted February 7, 2011 I have been a rifle hunter all my life. I always wanted to try bow hunting....but sports and school kept me busy. This year, I finally got my first bow! I had to practice pulling it back a lot because I got one with a minimum draw of 60 lbs. I also tore a ligament in a knee..so hiking over the hills was impossible. I lucked out and found a two point buck on the second to last day of the hunt. I shot it at 15 yards. My brother and dad guided me on when to release my arrow. My brother blood trailed it and brought it back to the road for me. It was exciting and lucky first archery hunt! bear402 Report post Posted February 7, 2011 Good Job ! 60 pounds is a lot to pull starting out. !! If you are comfortable with it, that's great. If it's difficult at all, you might consider going down to 50 pounds or so. You will shoot better and enjoy it more ! That's a nice healthy looking Buck.
