2011 Sonora Muley

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. We just returned from Mexico. We had a great hunt in Sonora. The border crossing went extremely well with no problems. The ranch, food, showers, and the people were all awesome. We passed on many good Coues' Deer, and I screwed up and shot a small one in the heat of the moment without looking him over. My bad.. LOL.. My Mule Deer made up for that the next day. I was very nervous to go down there to say the least, but now that we're back, it wasn't any different than going hunting anywhere else. I'm sure there are Isolated incidents, but we were lucky and all went well.. My Coues went 86 3/8 gross, and the Mule Deer was 32 5/8 inches wide straight across, and gross scores 197 even. I tried to upload a couple more pics, but they failed for some reason.

WOW!! What a buck! That's what dreams are made of! Congratulations on a buck of a life tme.

I'm very happy/glad you and fellow members from this site went to Mexico and came back with no problems at all and with a ton of good memories.

Were you hunting by Hermosillo or Caborca? Congrats again.

Ernesto we hunted south of Caborca. We crossed in Sonoyta/Lukeville and had absolutely no problems on either side of the border. One of the easiest crossings we have had yet.

Thanks guys. I feel very fortunate to have taken such a fine buck. I went from almost the lowest of lows (pulling the trigger on a Coues buck that I wish I would have let live another year or two) to the highest of highs the next day with this buck. As Ultra300 said, it was by far the easiest crossing we've ever made.
