montana canvas outfitters wall tent

Recommended Posts

I purchased this exact tent 12 years ago with the quik kamp frame and I can vouch for the fact that this is a high quality, extremely durable, and waterproof tent at a good price. It has never leaked a drop and can withstand a foot of snow easily. I wish I had pictures of a camp a few years back when only the Montana canvas tents were left standing after 18 inches of snow. The two others that were "Reliable" were a flattened pile of broken poles and wet gear. Whoever buys this will not be disappointed.

Excellent tent. I have been using mine for around 10+ years now. Mine is 12X14 and I paid around 1000 for it 10 years ago, so this is a great deal for someone looking for a big tent.

For those that care, My name is Dave, I supposedly am the dirtbag that apparently offended Rockslayer with the offer of $600 on his wall tent. Yes it is true that I did reply to his ad stating I was very interested, I had what I thought to be a mature conversation with what I thought was a gentlement the middle of this past week. I stated to him that I was out of town and would contact him when I got back on Saturday, but did explain that I would be on duty at the Fire Dept. Saturday turned out to be an extremely busy day at work and because I did not want to blow him off and NOT return his call. I asked my wife, who coincidentally handles the administrative and office end of things in my business. Yes she did offer $600 for the wall tent, the reason being after checking several ads on both ebay, monster muleys, as well as several other outdoor sites, there were numerous other wall tents of the same quality found in the $500 to $700 range. During my initial conversation with Rockslayer at no time did I make him an offer on the tent or ask him to hold it. I even stated that as I would not be able to get there until Sunday that if he had another offer to go ahead and sell it I understood. My exact words were "I will call you on Saturday, we will talk turkey and I'd like to come see it on Sunday". With that said I am not sure how I wasted your time. As my memory recalls the ad stated $1000 or best offer. My beginning offer was $600. If that was not acceptable all the "gentlemen" had to do was say no thank you. That is how you negotiate. I have had numerous dealings with people on this site as well as others and I am sure it can be attested to that I will help anybody at anytime with information and have had several pleasant business dealings with individuals on this site. It is unfortunate that Rockslayer has decided to call me a dirtbag because he did not like my offer. Thank you Dave

we could handle this like cowboys/ john wayne style, but i dont really want to fight yer wife.

If you didn't like the offer that was made, say no thanks, and move on; you're not out anything. At this point it sounds like you've got a bad case of sandygina.
