oz31p Report post Posted January 27, 2011 I started by using early american wood stain. 1part stain 1part paint thiner.I aplied the mix with a brush all over. I hand rubed a little strait paint thiner and used sand paper to lighten up the tips and the high points and some of the burrs. Them I let every thing dry in the sun for a day. Then I used a piece of cardboard to rub every where kinda like barnishing to give it a slight poilish. I then applied mink oil with my finder tips. I repeated the rubing sanding and mink oil till it looked right. I have every thing to finish the project so I should have a few finished pictures in a few hours. oz31p Report post Posted February 1, 2011 I'm pretty happy with it. So far I've had two people enter my trophy room and have there jaw drop and ask" wow. Where did you get him" same respons from me both times. I drop my head and say "he's not mine all I did was find it on the ground and restore him"
