DesertBull Report post Posted November 18, 2005 I heard on the news today that a Lion was seen in Queen Creek carrying away a farmers EMU. LOL! Seems the kitty came in and killed all 20 of the guys birds. I thought they only killed what they could eat? Does he prefer white meat or dark? G&F says they won't kill it unless it threatens humans. I'll bet the owner of the birds would let you sit on his fence and wait for Felix to show up again though.
azhuntnut Report post Posted November 18, 2005 Did they say where at in Queen Creek? I just bought a Foxpro and want to give it a try. I am trying to get a bobcat and lion this winter with my bow. David
DesertBull Report post Posted November 18, 2005 No, they didn't say. Just drive around and look for a trail of large feathers!
az4life Report post Posted November 18, 2005 I heard is was south of QC near the San Tan mountains. I thought there was a bird ranch along the Hunt hwy? I bet he will be back! Killing 20 of them you know he was having fun! Cats love the chase and probably the Emu's. I hear they taste like chicken!
BASS Report post Posted November 18, 2005 I too heard it was along the San Tans. I also heard that it was going after his neighbor's horse, until the bird owners mastiff chased it away.
grizzly Report post Posted November 19, 2005 Those emus run in the thousands of dollars each! I hope he had insurance or that could wipe out a regular joe. The bird ranch down by Tucson is the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Farm just off the I-10.
