Sam Report post Posted January 20, 2011 Anyone ever had a dog chew at her nails or dew claws? I have a 9 month old yellow lab and lately she has been chewing on her nails. i keep them trimmed. Actually, I walk her quite a bit on the side walk and they pretty much stay trimmed by that and by her digging. But, tonight I caught her chewing on her dew claw........any ideas?? Pine Donkey Report post Posted January 20, 2011 We have a lab who does the same thing. Best we have determined it is due to alergies. We give her Benedryl every morning and evening, it seems to help. wackycouesaddict Report post Posted January 20, 2011 not sure what it is we have a 5 month old chocolate that does the same thing. and hers are almost two short she likes two try and dig threw the patio so at times they will get down two nubes if we dont watch her close. but we still catch her chewing on her nails and due claw.
