yotebuster Report post Posted January 19, 2011 I've been meaning to take the online course and schedule a field day for over a year now and keep putting it off. Anyhow, I noticed there is a field day in Safford this weekend, it would be worth the 3 hour drive to me if I could get another point this year in time for the draw. What I'm wondering is how long does it take before it shows up to the G and F that you've taken it? If it takes a few weeks then I may as well wait for a closer field day since I won't need the point till Deer and Sheep draw in June. Anyhow, my own fault for not getting it done this time last year!!! Thanks in advance for the help.

yotebuster Report post Posted January 19, 2011 so more or less when they update your points for getting turned down (which I probably will!) then they give you another? So if I took it in say April I wouldn't get another elk point in the '12 draw because it wouldn't get updated until March of '12? If that's the case then I need to take it before March of '11 to get another point in the '12 elk draw... Hopefully they update all species after every draw? Red Rabbit Report post Posted January 19, 2011 Those taking Don Martin's NR class in Kingman this April have their BP processed in time for the deer draw. So I would think this weekend's field day will work for the deer draw, if the guy holding it is punctual with the paperwork. (Don had a Jan class that had points processed in time for the elk draw.) yotebuster Report post Posted January 20, 2011 What's the difference between the NR class and the online class and field day? My brother is gonna fly down this spring and take one, would like to know which one is better for him to take? Thanks

Thanks That NR class is for those who have training/certification in another state already. Still sounds fishy that one class gets credited right away and the other waits until after next draw. elkhutnaz Report post Posted January 21, 2011 you need to finish up the class about a month before the draw in order for it to be entered, you might not see it pop up on the computer but the point will be in for the draw. So if you are in a class that might finish up by Feb you might have a chance to get the hunter ed point awarded by the elk draw, if the instructor has his "stuff" together and gets the info turned into the office
