huntin4... Report post Posted January 17, 2011 Saturday afternoon spotted this buck with his does bedded down on the side of a hill. I went to the back side of the hill and came over the top. I got within 50 yards and a doe had me pegged but couldn't figure out what I was. I probably sent there an hour before I could move any closer. I moved a little closer but they decided to go over the hill. I was within 25 yards but didn't have a shot with all the brush. I waited until most of them topped over the hill and then I got to the top. As I made my way to a rock ledge to find the deer. I look down the other side and I see the buck. I range him at 54 yards and let an arrow fly. He ran straight down the hill and piled up. Of course I don't have a camera with me, I did have two of my boys. They were watching and started driving around the hill when the deer went over the top. My older son was hunting but decided to sit this stock out. The hill was pretty steep and rocky.
