Vancleaf Report post Posted January 17, 2011 I live in Maricopa and was wondering if there are any spots nearby that I could take the bow out for a half a day hunt?
tjhunt2 Report post Posted January 17, 2011 You're not far from Gila bend and there are many water holes that have big muleys watering this time of year at catchments in the area. Learn their locations and with a little patience you just might score on a trophy of a life tme. Good luclk! TJ
Vancleaf Report post Posted January 19, 2011 I was checking out the map a bit, would Butterfield Pass be an area that I could start doing some exploring?

vincefmx Report post Posted January 23, 2011 I live south of maricopa out on warren and century near stanfield. there is a ton of water around from the agricultural activity. i have been checking for deer out there and seen zero. kind of disappointing because the habitat is great for them. vincefmx Report post Posted February 2, 2011 I live about two miles from I-8 and have been driving all the way to the superstition wilderness area to hunt. Decided to take a quick trip out south of the house about 6 miles. Put a decent stalk on the largest muley i have ever seen in person. Gotta love wind shifts! watched him bound off from 80 yds! azslim Report post Posted February 3, 2011 Now is a good time to scout for next year. You will be able to see what survived the hunts and there are not near as many people out. The big boys will be by themselves and grazing through to day to make up the calories lost chasing girl deer, plus there may be a doe or two that wasn't bred. I saw a couple bucks still chasing does on the 28th & 30th. And get high as in climb hills, won't do any good to smoke a left-handed cigarette and try and glass in the creosote - can't see vary far........but you are closer to the cookies in the truck.......
