got a wild hog yesterday in alabama!

I have been wanting to go hog hunting for several years now and got the chance while out here deer huntiing in alabama. Shot this medium sized boar near dark yesterday. We had spent a couple days searching for this herd. Found them on a different day right near dark but they were in such thick stuff we couldn't get a shot. But this time they were in the open and I passed on the big boar and shot this better eating hog. One shot from my trusty 270 and he was mine. We figure he is about 130 to 150 lbs

Glad you finally got your pig. Sounds like a pretty good trip. You will have to fill us in on your trip when you get back. Congratulations on the pig and the deer you shot. Have a safe trip home.

I went to Al a few years ago for new years and made time for some quick hunts. the first question i asked was if i could take a wild hog. they told me i could if i saw one but that they were very rare

 

i guess they were not in that part of the state. every time they are mentioned on tv you would think they were EVERYWHERE.

 

id love to run into one here in az.
