Millhouse Report post Posted December 31, 2010 So, I have used my Covert II only a couple of times. Needless to say, I have not gotten everything figured out yet. Most recently, I had my camera out for a couple of weeks. I did not get any pictures, only video. Checked the settings, seemed to be okay. Set up the camera at home and got the same result.....lots of 10sec video clips, but not a single picture. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
bonecollector Report post Posted December 31, 2010 All I can say is make sure the setting is on camera and not video. I haven't had a problem with mine.
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted December 31, 2010 The camera can be set to take photos or video. So ir u are getting video, then it is set for that and will only take video until you change the setting to take photos. Look through the menu options and you will see a screen where you can choose either video or camera
Millhouse Report post Posted December 31, 2010 Okay, thanks. I can't find my manuals since we moved (I hate moving ) I gave that a try and now I am getting pictures and no video. Is there a way to get both? Thanks again for the help.
Jimmer Negamanee Report post Posted January 1, 2011 I gave that a try and now I am getting pictures and no video. Is there a way to get both? Nope. As far as I can tell on my Covert II it's an either/or deal depending on what you select in the menu. What I usually do is set it for pictures first. Then I go check it and if I get pictures of something I think is video worthy I select the video option (but that's fairly rare because it's not easy to get a critter to linger long enough for good videos + I like pictures better because you can quickly tell if there's an animal in it as opposed to watching the whole video for a 1 second animal appearance.) It makes sense to have the operator make the pic. v. video selection because there is know way for the camera to know what you'd prefer for that particular event. With that said, there may be a way to pull still pictures from video but that would be something you'd have to do at home in the editing stage.
