There are definately some decent archery tags and late rifle tags that will put you in the max point pass with 8 points. Not any super great hunts but some very good ones for sure. .270 Report post Posted December 24, 2010 i don't think there is a bad bull elk tag in Az. there are some hunts that you really have to hunt hard. maybe even really really hard. but there is a legitimate chance for a big bull in every unit that has permits. with 8 points you're getting to where you should get a good tag soon. 3 seasons ago i had about 11 or 12 points and said heck with it, i want a tag and i applied for a unit that had good draw odds, but not a great unit and got drawn. the next year with just 2 points i got a u1 late bull tag. points help, but not as much as luck. decide where you want to go and apply. good luck, Lark.
