Becker Report post Posted November 7, 2005 Littlebear and I headed to make sure my cam didn't get stolen with all the hunters running about. It was still there with pics of this lion on it. Hiked around later and found FOUR RACKS!!!! Here is a pic of the lion and three of the racks the other was small forky we found on the way out. I think we will be taking the hounds into this spot.... gnoto Report post Posted November 7, 2005 Thats one skinny lion! Not sure it was him eating those bucks. I think he was looking for scraps. I bet if you look around there are much more dominant lion tracks and probably a lot bigger.

bullwidgeon Report post Posted November 8, 2005 Well, At least he is thinning out that messed up 2 point gene and letting the big 3 and 4 pointers go . Those are all nice racks and that looks like a good spot to whack a lion. Bret M.
Azlongears Report post Posted November 8, 2005 It was a pretty good day, think this area has the potential for some good bucks. That lion isn't skinny, he's HUNGRY. Lions have a very high metabolic rate, and unless their belly's are full from a kill they look like that, and are solid mucsle. Its rare to ever find a healthy lion with much fat on them, especially down here in the desert. What do you think Epperson, your Pops ever caught an over weight cat?
