Hunt7112 Report post Posted December 16, 2010 Loading for 270 wsm can't seem to find any data for nosler 130gn ballistic silver tip and H4350. Hoping someone might have the min and max on this thanks.
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted December 16, 2010 I had better luck from my wsm with H4831sc than H4350, just a heads up
Hunt7112 Report post Posted December 16, 2010 I thought I would try the H4350 due to it being less temperature sensitive, not that the 4831sc is all that temperature sensitive. Started with RL-22 and found out it is suppose to be very sensitive however was very accurate. Since I have already purchased the H4350 would like to give it a try. I may soon be buying H4831sc. Thanks

Thanks I also thought the RL line of powders was supposed to be temperature sensitive, but after more research and shooting it here, in AZ and in Africa in temperatures from about 30 degres to about 80 degress and finding no difference, I decided that wasnt true. Also, I have complete confidence in H4831sc and it is one of my go to powders.

I have actually gone out with loads of different temps and compared them over the chrony. Most shooters will tell you that the difference between 30 degrees and 90 degrees is minimal where once you get past 90+ degrees they are really hot. I have never tested them past 85 degrees so i cannot vouch for that. The bottom line is too many guys loose too much sleep over the topic. Find an accurate load and be happy. If the velcoity changes a bit, learn it and adjust for IF neccesary.
Hunt7112 Report post Posted December 16, 2010 Thanks for the responses maybe I am being to concerned over this. I lost 130 fps in my 7mm rum with IMR7828 and was trying to avoid it with my sons 270 wsm. So I thought I would try to start his load development with a less temperature sensitive powder. I still have to test some more of the RL22 loads and will be testing some H4350 loads. However I still can't seem to find the min and max for the nosler 130 gn ballistic silver tip with H4350
lionhunter Report post Posted December 17, 2010 I shoot/ load 130 accubond in front of IMR 4350 64 gr. I have had no problems from summer shooting to winter shooting in Az. I consistantly get 3340-3350. I know that ImR 4350 and H4350 have about the same burn rate. I think if you started around 62 gr. and worked up you would be fine, but you do what you want with this info...... Whitey
Hunt7112 Report post Posted December 17, 2010 Based on the hogdon website with different bullets of the same weight(130 gn) and H4350 would it be safe to start at slightly lower charges, and watch my signs, or is it to critical with different bullet lengths, and seating depths. My thoughts were to start at 60gr and possibly work up.
HaYen Report post Posted January 12, 2011 Checked my records and I have a load using 130gr HC with 57.5grs of IMR4350, which is .5 grans over the starting charge. Notes state it was an accurate load but no chrono data.
Red Rabbit Report post Posted January 12, 2011 The Hodgdon site lists H4350 with the 130 Hornady SP. Start at the min and work up with a chronograph using the 130 BT.
