First archery coyote

Went out deer hunting with a bow opening weekend. We did some calling, and long behold i got my first coyote with a bow. We killed 1 also the day before with a bow. My friend is an avid varmit hunter, and you would have thought by his reaction that i shot a 200 inch muley. I am addicted to calling coyotes now with a bow.

Congrats to both of you. Archery predator hunting can be tough. I called and killed one at 30 yards once. Called and missed another at 20 yards. I really want to try it more often tho. Did you use a decoy? I think that may be the next thing I try.

We did not use a decoy. The most important thing i learned,and i dont know much, is to draw your bow really early. I was drawing my bow when they were at 80 yards or so. Cant wait for the next one,though my buddy who took me says there might not be a next time with a bow.

Drawing on a Yote at close range is tough to get away with.

congrats on the yote. I have shot 2 now with my bow one on a stalk and the other sitting a water hole and by far the best yote hunting so far. To kill a Yote with a gun is easy to kill a yote with a bow is MUCH harder. Great job, well done.
