josh Report post Posted December 13, 2010 Got out for some calling this weekend and ended up having a great time all around Friday afternoon called in five grays in six stands. Only brought home this one. Bad shooting on my part was the main reason. <img src="http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee4/joshnaz/115_0915.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> Then saturday went out with Scott and his buddy to a bobcat hotspot. We seperated, Scott took Chuck and I went off solo. My second stand using my favorite cat sound this nice female came charging in on the trail I walked in on. I thought I was going to be able to set up on a hill overlooking a nice wash,so I brought my .17 fireball, but it was so thick when I got in there my only option was a small opening in the bottom of the wash. I put the Big Country up in a tree as high as I could reach. I stood about 20 feet from the call a little elevated. At about two minutes it appeared fast and was standing at the base of the tree looking up at the caller. I put the crosshairs on the cat. I shot it jumped and started running right at me. I had to step aside as it ran past me. The cat died about five feet away from me. Called a couple of fox but was unable to shoot them. Scott called at about 10a.m. saying he had called in a coyote and two cats. We met up and this is what we harvested that morning. Then sunday I went out with Sal and shot a yote and he got his first fox it was alot of fun.
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted December 13, 2010 Nice. Why have you gone away from using your shotgun? It seems alot of the calling you do, or atleast pictures the areas look more like shotgun country? PS, is your cat a little on the rosette side?
josh Report post Posted December 13, 2010 Casey I have been using the .17 fireball for a couple reasons. First it is usually really good on the fur. Second I hate being limited if a critter holds up out of shotgun range. Cats seem to do this more frequently than other animals and that is what I am typically after this time of year. Also I really like shooting this gun. Yes the cat has some real nice coloring and modeling.

Bounty the Dog Hunter Report post Posted December 15, 2010 My son wanted to see the pics from my hunt with Josh. I showed him these pics and he said "Dad, Is that Josh with a Bobcat?" I said yes son. He then says, "Dad you got a Bobcat like that but Josh shot a bigger one with spots and it looks like a Leopard!" Even my 3 year old thinks Josh is the man. I have to buy a Minaska so I can be my sons Idol again. D@#n you Josh!!!!
