couesobsession Report post Posted December 11, 2010 I want to buy a modestly priced boltgun for hunting. I have looked at savages- and like the looks features and price of the markii BV. But I like the looks of the CZ 452 varmint better. My budget is 350 tops, so I'd like suggestions for a beautiful, accurate, affordable rimfire for game up to rabbits. .17 hmr, .22 lr, .22wmr, I'm open to them all. I don't want a 10/22 or other semi-auto. Suggestions? I'm open to buying used. Can I get the CZ for my budget somewhere?

DUG Report post Posted December 11, 2010 You should be able to get a CZ452 American for about 400 to 440 depending on who will deal with you. The Varmint is a little more. CZ also has a 513 Basic that will go around 300. You can compare on Gunbroker and maybe find a really good used one in your price range.
sjvcon Report post Posted December 11, 2010 I was also looking for the CZ when I bought my son his Savage 17HMR. Couldn't find one for what I wanted to spend. Saw the Savage Rifle/Scope Package with the Accutrigger a Basspro and bought that. It's a TACK DRIVER. Don't think you can go wrong with it. CZ's are definitely nice, as are the Ruger 77/22's, but they are costly.
