cohntr6 Report post Posted December 2, 2010 Repost: Maybe the bowhunters can comment! I finally got a camera on a scrape line in early January this year and of course it was being used heavily by several bucks. I was wondering when you all started seeing fresh scrapes show up in the pre-rut. Should be soon either way, right? THANKS! Jeff
abovethecoues Report post Posted December 12, 2010 cohtr6 I saw a scrapes the first week of December. Scrapes meaning scratching up the ground below a low tree branch. I thing they have been rubbing their antlers a little longer though.

cohntr6 Report post Posted December 19, 2010 Thanks for the replies. I put a camera up last week on a scrape from last year. Yes, I don mean scrape as a place where a deer paws at the ground, urinates in it, bends a branch and rubs his pre-orbital gland, etc. Here is thew same scrape with different bucks using it. The forkhorn was a predictable visitor for a while. Both bucks are standing in the scrape, it is kind of hard to see and the pictures are from last season (the time stamp is correct).
