second shot Report post Posted November 2, 2005 My opening morning spot was crawling with hunters and nothing was moving except a few doe. Seemed like everyone else around me had a shot though. I passed on a forky that night and my buddy got a very big 3x2. We celebrated with a few cold ones. I hunted hard saturday and sunday but only saw doe. We came back Sunday night and my dad convinced me to give it another shot since I didn't have to work Monday. We went to a spot that I'd been seeing bucks every time I was out scouting. We got there at 5:30 and set up our binos. At about 7:30 I just happened to look to my right just as a nice 3x3 ran from over the hill behind us and stopped about 50 feet from me. One shot, he ran about 50 feet and the rest is history. I'm glad my dad convinced me to go that last day. My deer with probably score in the 70s and when I said my friends 3x2 was big I didn't realize how big until I put my 3x3's rack inside the 3x2 and it fit. It was a successful year for our group. BowhuntCoues Report post Posted November 3, 2005 Congrads to both of you. Maybe you need to start bowhunting with getting that close, 50' is under 20 yards sothat would have been a great bow shot.
