.270 Report post Posted November 29, 2010 our granddaughter, Lark, got to go home from the hospital today. after 10 weeks and 2 days, 7 major surgeries, countless other "procedures" and about a dozen real scary times. they gave her a neckless made of beads that represent all the things she had done to her while she was there. 2 of the beads represent 100 such procedures each and there are almost another 100 after that. this little kid has been through a lot. but it's a happy day at our camp. got to go elk hunting over the weekend with my 73 year old aunt and she got a nice 6x7. cut me a Christmas tree today and cruised back to creen queek. it's a good day here. if any of ya ever want to donate to a good outfit, the Phoenix Childrens Hospital is a good place. later, Lark. billrquimby Report post Posted November 30, 2010 God bless your granddaughter. No one, especially a child, should have to undergo seven major surgeries. Bill Quimby
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted November 30, 2010 +1 on donating to Phx Children's Hospital!! They do a LOT of great things for kids. I was helping on a hunt last weekend for kids with the Outdoor Experience 4 All program and most of them had received many treatments there and are now cancer free! It's very sad when a child has to go through such rough stuff. Thanks for the report Lark.

.270 Report post Posted November 30, 2010 thanks a lot for the concern. this has been a really trying and tough time, but at the same time there have been some really special things happen during all of it. and while she spent all those weeks there it was easy to see she was one of the lucky kids. some of those poor little fellers really have a rough road ahead of em. Lark has a great future and her prospects are great. after they take that trake out in a few months she oughta really get revved up. take care of your kids and be thankfull perpetually that they are healthy. even if they're knotheads. keep em in line and learn em up right. teach em what is really important. well, i'm headed out the door to elk hunt with Bridger. later, Lark. CouesWhitetail Report post Posted November 30, 2010 In honor of your granddaughter, I think we should run a donation drive for Phx Children's Hospital. I will start it off by saying that CouesWhitetail.com will donate 10 cents for every post made in the forum from Dec 1 to Dec 25. Last year in that timeframe we had about 4,000 posts, but I bet we can do a lot more than that this year. And anyone who feels motivated to donate above and beyond that can make a donation using the Donate button found on the main site under the menu on the left hand side of the main page ( http://www.coueswhitetail.com ). Make a note when you do the payment that you want the donation to go to the Phx Children's Hospital Charity Drive.
