25-06 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 I got me another buck, but not the bigun I've been scoutin all year...My brother and best friend and I got up in there Thursday a.m. just to find camps set up all over the place normally we dont see a single soul out there exept for 2 guys on mules, this year it was a flippin circus. Opening mornin my brother and I were glassin a buncha deer when all this suddin something spooked them, I soon realized it was another hunter that was sittin up on the hill glassing through his rifle scope So we moved onto plan B and just after we hiked our butts off to get up there I dropped my water jug and put a big hole in it So now Iam about 3 miles from camp with no water, but we see 3 bucks and shots were fired but we both missed. Out of water and hot we headed back to camp and drank a bunch of beer The next mornin we went up to the same spot were we seen the 3 bucks and about 5 minutes after I sat down I see a deer about 200 yards away with antlers and that is when my hunt ended, I got me a big forky and back to camp I went for more cold beer...Later that evening the guys on the mules stopped by and they also could'nt believe all the people out there this year. My brother has pic's and I will send them to Amanda just as soon as I can...Terry
trufletch Report post Posted November 2, 2005 Funny thing that you mentioned guys on mules- on sunday my brother and I were in 33 glassing for our November hunt. ran across a guy that said he was in the area on his mule- had been at Manning Camp and got thrown from the mule- he was back in there on foot, looking for a lost spur- guess he hiked in instead of taking the mules, couldn't trust em i imagine. like you said- lots of camps the size of a city. We didn't see any hunters in the areas that we glassed tho. Congrats on your buck trufletch
second shot Report post Posted November 2, 2005 We camped in Reddington and it was a circus by 6:00 am on Thursday. We got up there at about 5:30 to get a spot, the spot we wanted was taken and so was just about every other spot we wanted to be. We ended up putting our tent city right next to the main road in the biggest place we could find. Worked out ok though.

He has stories to tell untill the cows come home about some of the racks hangin up at the cabin Say's some of them are the size of mule deer
BowhuntCoues Report post Posted November 3, 2005 Nothin' like a good pack mule to get the critters out of the hills, or even moving your own body up and down the hills.
