willhunt4coues Report post Posted November 27, 2010 Man was it a great hunt me and Rick (double buck) tagged out the first day and my friend Ozzy tagged out this morning. We saw my buck as soon as we got to our glassing spot so me and Rick headed out to get closer. We got set up at 400 yards and my first shot hit a little far back, after 1 miss he finally tok one to the mid back and dropped in his tracks. After Rick shot his Rick and ozzy got Ricks back to the jeep and we took a rest and headed up after mine. When we finnaly got to mine he was still alive so I took one more shot and put him out. He tapped out at 86 1/2 and grossed 84. I tell you what when I shot that whole hillside came alive. I have never seen so many coues. We believe the buck Rick and I shot we had seen in there on a previous scouting trip.

billrquimby Report post Posted November 28, 2010 Congratulations. Incidentally, your photos made me wonder if the sotol stalk that is growing out of the top of your head gives you any problems when you go through doorways. Bill Quimby
Simple Hunter Report post Posted November 28, 2010 Nice G3s! I kind of like those bucks where the G3s are bigger than the G2s. Good work!

willhunt4coues Report post Posted November 30, 2010 He was already sparring with Ricks buck and 2 others. Man there was alot of pre rut activity going on and believe it or not look at his neck we think he may have been in rut but I was not going to wait to see I just wanted to take him down. There were 2 does there too and 1 2x2 and 1 nice 3x3 plus mine and Ricks. It was amazing all the activity that was there on that hill side. Beds everywhere and sign and tons of trails and tracks. I am going to name this hill crazy coues mountain.
