BeardownAZ Report post Posted November 20, 2010 Sounds like an idiot. All Thieves are idiots, not all idiots are thieves! Who knows though. Hopefully just a fool and they put it back.
sjvcon Report post Posted November 29, 2010 Yeah ... gotta agree that the locks just keep the honest people honest. Theives will take cameras locked or not. I would say that the Rancher was right in one regard ... if it is his private property, the guy mounting the camera SHOULD have asked first ... and an outfitter should know better. That said, the Rancher should stilll have returned the camera ... keeping it is theft in my mind. If you park your car off the side of the road on someone else's property, they don't have the right to take it ... same should go for a camera.
W.O.T Report post Posted November 30, 2010 Integrity is what keeps people honest, not a lock keeping them from stealing or taking something that doesnt belong to them. I have a dozen or so cams and have had a few taken. I understand that if I leave something somewhere NOT on private property I run the risk of it not being there when I return. My parents taught me not to take stuff thats not mine and thats what Im tryin to teach my kids. Alright, end of sermon... And I HATE thieves!!!

" They can have it towed and impounded... Yeah ... they can have it towed and impounded ... but the owner can still get it back. Like I said ... the camera owner should have asked permission on private property. And the rancher probably has other LEGAL recourse if he wants to make a point.
