Bears and Trail Cameras

Checked my camera Friday afternoon and I finally got some photos of a bear.

Never seen or heard of a bear eating salt.

Then the bear took a close look at the camera. So next time I'll have it attached to the tree better.

Got quite a few photos that looked like this after that episode.

Awesome pics. I always have tehm smelling my camera. They are curious animals and I think they just smell the human scent. What unit were you in?

Those bears can be hard on cams, I have had them destroy a couple 35 mm cameras I have put out. Guess they just dont like people knowing what they are up to? LOL.

Nice bear pics!!! After a bear trashed my cam, I had to buy a bear proof metal box from Deer Cam. I think they like the smell of the film.

I have heard bears like the smell of the 35mm film too. I'm using a Moultrie Digital and have had really good luck with it. I'm just happy he didn't trash it. Guess now I'll have to make a metal box to put it in.

Oh man that is great Doug. Too funny! I got a pic of the top of a bear's head this summer and can't believe he didn't even slap it.

One time Andy and I were putting up a camera in a bear infested area. We jumped a bear about 50 yards from where I put it. When I came back the camera was busted open and I got one picture. A bear's nose at two inches.
