ffjpayne Report post Posted November 10, 2010 ok so after this last whitetail hunt i decided i need a higher power optics than just my 10 power, so i wanted some input what you all thought is more practical a 20-60 spotting scope or 15x56 pair of binos. thanks for any input. If someone is able to lend you a spotting scope, go out from the house or at the house and sit and glass random areas and see if your eyes like it for long periods of time. I did the same thing and the rule for me is glass using my 15 X Binos an easy more user friendly way to glass up deer and then use the spotting scope to judge buck size and shot placement. BigWave Report post Posted November 11, 2010 I sold my Swaro spotter about a year ago to get Swaro 15's. They are amazing. I did end up snagging a like new Nikon ED50 to use when needed. Chukar Plucker Report post Posted November 11, 2010 i was in a very similar situation this year with my Bighorn hunt. I went with the Swaro 15's, luckily i was able to borrow a spotting scope as well a swaro 80 hd, both are great but i have to say i am very pleased with my decision. The binos are much better (for me) for long periods of time, and when you need to the spotter brings them right into you lap. If you can only do one i would go binos.
