Elkaddict Report post Posted November 1, 2010 With a little stain, barnwood, rusted pipe, and Home Depot, I made this chandelier to hang over our dining table at the cabin. Here's what they looked like to start. And the finished project.

newalleye Report post Posted November 2, 2010 Great job! That looks fantastic... if yo don't mind me asking, would you explain your process with those antlers from start to finish? I've got a lot of bleached or chalky ones that deserve more attention than they'll get in the garage and lamps/chandeliers/coat racks would be great ways to put them on display. How bleached is too bleached when it comes to refurbishing old sheds? thanks

How bleached is too bleached when it comes to refurbishing old sheds? thanks The horns I used were extremly old and chalky. I took a chance and brushed on minwax puritan pine stain. It sucked it up right away. I then sanded the tips to get them a little lighter. Then brushed on a minwax satin finish polyurethane. They came out a little shiny which I like. All said, I was very surprised at how well they took the stain and polyurethane. Give it a try on one of your antlers and let me know how it turned out.
