Coach Report post Posted October 30, 2010 Ya know those flimsy rubber objective lens caps that binoculars all come with these days? Well I lost one off of my $1200 swarovskis last year and shot them an email looking for a replacement. Around $25 bucks later, I have one in the mail. I've bought both of my oldest sons Vortex 10x42 Diamondback binoculars to hunt with and they have the sweet Jim White tripod adapters and Slik tripods. So this year each son loses an objective lense cap off of their binocs during their elk hunt. I emailed Vortex asking how I could order the lost lens caps. I got an emal just hours later asking for nothing more than my shipping address and that they will send out replacement objective lense caps *free of charge*. I can't say enough about Vortex, just being such amazing optics for the price, to tack on customer service that makes Swarovski look like chumps... I'll say this, I'm a die-hard Swarovski fan, I have the 10x42 and 15x56 SLCs. Great glass I wouldn't leave home without them. But the way Vortex treated me, I would be hard pressed to find any reason that the next pair of binocs, spotting scope or rifle scope I buy should be anyting but Vortex. Aside from outstanding customer service, I think Vortex optics are on par with the big guys for a whole lot less money.
azslim Report post Posted October 30, 2010 +1 - Haven't had to use it but from 1st hand stories their service is tops. I suggest 15x50 Vipers to people all the time that don't have the cash for Swaro's. Excellent glass for the money and the customer service pushes them over the top. Had a Hunter with the Kaibabs last year and they are neck & neck with my Swaro's. If I didn't own Swaro's I would get the Kaibab's. What bums me out are the turds here in Az that screwed up the Guide Program for the rest of us.
oz31p Report post Posted October 30, 2010 Ill do you one better. Before last years javelina hunt I bought a set of 10x42 vipers. My first set that cost more that $40. All always it was raining during the hunt so I had to wipe water away from the lens during the hunt. I get home and while cleaning my gear I I find a smal circular scratch one the eye piece. I merely made mention of it on another hunting forum. Withing a few hours I get a pm from a vortex employee/hunter asking me for my address. I give it too him. 2 days later a prepaid box arrives. I sent it in. 5 days later a brand new set arrives with their anit fog/ water repel kit. 7days total. Needless to say I've been a walikng vortex bill board. I feel a little bad as I told vortex that it was my fault and the scratch was so small it did not afect any thing. They told me it was afecting the clairity and was unacceptable for me to have a scratch on the lens. Since I feel guilty I have since bought there spotter, digiscope addapter and tripod. BowNut Report post Posted October 30, 2010 They are great. I had the head plate fall off the center post of my Vortex tripod on my elk hunt. Lucky me my binos didn't hit the dirt. But just went to there website to email them and saw the form to fill out and send in. Sent the tripod back and about 5-6 days later I got it back fixed no charge all new parts. I have heard this over and over about Vortex they have my business from now on. Great products and the best warranty.
