azhuntnut Report post Posted October 24, 2005 I was out scouting this weekend south of the 260 and found five different does that had one or two fawns hanging with them. They all looked very healthy with plenty of energy. I actually called one of them in using a fawn bleat. She came within 15-20 yards of me. Then I noticed a couple coyotes coming in, but the deer were in between me and the coyotes so they went after them. I couldn't get a shot because the trees were in the way. The only downside is I didn't see any deer with those little things sticking out of there heads. Do you think the males are still hanging in there bachelor groups? Also the bulls were still bugling at night near my camp. I called one in to about 75 yards, but thats about as far as he would commit. I am sure he has heard every call so far this year. I also found two nice bulls that have been hit by trucks along 260. One of them had bases that were about 8-9 inches around. The horns were broke off and I couldn't find them, so I guess the driver picked them up. David
