Tripod and adapter recommendation needed

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I just recently purchased the Vortex Viper 15x50 and am looking for a tripod and adapter for them. I would like a lightweight tripod as I often hike in pretty deep and want to conserve the weight.

Looking for something good in quality, reliable, and light weight. I've looked around on the internet but figured I would ask here to narrow down the search a bit.

Thanks

John

i use the viper 10x42 normally with a vortex high county tripod with a manofotto 128cr head i was using a promaster addapter. i like the set. its farly light. quite steady when sitting down. but is useless standing. i lost my addapter during this last hunt so i will ne getting the same one. i did use the viper 15x50s for 7 hours strait on opening moring and it worked flawlessly the only problems it gave me was it would only find does.

Call the Outdoorsmans! They make the lightest weight, most secure tripod adapter available. A small stud screws into the front hinge of your binos and stays attached. You then insert the stud into a collar that can be screwed down tight on top of the adapter. The adapter dovetails perfectly into their excellent line of lightweight tripods, but has a threaded hole on the bottom so it can be used with most other tripod brands.

Just give the Outdoorsmans a call or check out their website and they will point you in the right direction! They have an adapter that will work with almost every brand and model of binoculars.

FYI: I used the same binoculars a couple years ago set up just the way I described and the system worked perfectly!

Good luck!

+1 on the Outdoorsmans set up. I will never use another tripod set up again. Its strong and lightweight and the customer service from the guys that work there is #1
