ruttinbucks Report post Posted October 24, 2010 I was wondering if I drew a first hunt tag and something came up and I wasn't able to hunt if I could take it and trade it in for a leftover tag? Any info appreciated.
azslim Report post Posted October 25, 2010 nope, use it or loose it......... You can donate it to an org like HOAL or OE4A so a sick kid can go hunting.
scoutm Report post Posted October 25, 2010 No you can't. They did away with being able to obtain two draw hunt tags a number of years ago. I have spoken with GF and they are exploring recreating it so that the leftover tags don't go to waste and GF can get the revenue from them. The bag limit however has always been 1 per year. MattMan Report post Posted October 29, 2010 The bag limit however has always been 1 per year. Actually, no. The bag limit used to be two deer per calendar year as long as the second tag was acquired from the leftover pool after the initial draw. You could walk into any regional office and buy leftover OTC tags VERY reliably after the draws. This was before Coues became so popular and they couldn't give the tags away. I'm afraid the golden age of Coues hunts has passed...
CRAZYBUCK Report post Posted October 29, 2010 I called game and fish for my brother in-law who is currently deployed over seas his is active duty air force he drew a nov archery bull tag and he gets back with like 2 days left of his hunt while he has been gone his son was born so i dont think he will be making his hunt so game and fish said he can return his tag and obtain a bonus point or can donate it to charity if his son was older he could give it to him no questions asked so it kinda sucks.
