buglethemin Report post Posted October 21, 2010 Did not get an elk, my friends had a cow tag, and it was a very small area to hunt in. I think there were approx. 80 tags, half were for any elk and the other half was cow only. With the small area to hunt in and the word out of the only water was on the west sunset mtns, there were plenty of other hunters in the area. We did glass up some big herds and some bulls, but all were across diablo canyon and were not in the unit. We still had a good time, and took care of some coyote problems.
