infor/ starting point for 30-378 and 300 ultra

I am looking for some info as to where to start with the 168 Burger VLD in both the 300 Ultra, and the 30-378. If you have a pet load for either let me know.

With cases that big, I would look at the 208 Amax, 210 berger or the 240 SMK. They will out perform the 168 in every way but speed.

I agree with jeffro. I like 180 acubonds but id try for 180+. My rum likes imr4350. Most like h1000 and retumbo. I have some retumbo but never got around to using it, the 4350 shoots real good for me.

With the heavy bullets, you will need to use a slow powder in order to get the speed before preasure.

I agree with the above. Go 208 amax or 210 Berger; you'll get muh better all around performance out of those large calibers.

Thanks guys for the info, but I just spoke to the guy that wanted to reload those rounds, and he is going to stick with what works. ( Just orders new turrets from Kenton for both guns)
