azhunter23 Report post Posted October 11, 2010 I am looking for a Nikon D5000 but will entertain any ideas. If some one has something please let me know. I will be using the camera for wildlife photography (mostly birds). Thanks
whisper Report post Posted October 13, 2010 azhunter23, My brother in law owns a camera repair shop here in Tucson. They repair and sell Nikon, as well as other photo equipment. He sometimes has used/refurbished digital SLR's for sale. If not he usually has the high end bodies and lenses in stock for you to check out and see what fits you best. They have tons of knowledge about camera equipment. Give him a call he might have something for you or help you make a good choice that suits you and your needs. Red Rabbit Report post Posted October 14, 2010 You can sometimes get used cameras from Adorama or B&H, but savings vary over new. http://www.adorama.com/US%20%20%20%20407482.html What lense will you use for birds?
Red Rabbit Report post Posted October 14, 2010 Nikon has a deal until Oct 31 that if you buy some EDG optics, you get a free D3000 w/ kit lens http://www.nikonpromo.com/edg.html But neither the D3000 nor the D5000 have an internal in-body autofocus motor, so you would need AF-S lenses that have their own motor (or focus manually)
