Underwater Camera..card still good!!!

So last August i set up my Scoutguard cam on a dirt tank that was very low with water..im talking a 10'x10' area! I left the camera at the water level attached to a wood post. Well two days after i set it up El Nino 2 rolled through and dumped on the area the cam was in. I returned 3 days after setting it up to find that dirt tank was now the size of a small lake...and my cam was 15 feet under water Well today i returned and found the tank low enough and just the cam was sticking above water. I just pulled the card thinking there is no way it was still good.....well here are a few pics...i was able to get 33 pics before it went underwater. Im still blown away!! Great cams, Amanda!!!

Wow, good report. Poor camera! Does it still work? Unfortunately I don't think "acts of God" are covered in the warranty

I have not tested it to see if it still works..but i highly doubt it!! I figured it would not be covered under warranty

I had one get all wet inside from getting knocked into a small stream by a bear. I took all the screws out of the back and let it air dry for a week or two and once it seemed really dry, it worked fine. Make sure you let it dry completely though or it could short out. Yours certainly took a worse drowning than mine, so I doubt it will work, but it might!

That is an HCO Scoutguard not a Covert. Did you use to sell the HCO Amanda?

Crap I never even knew she sold them I thought they were the Coverts only.

There were a lot of problems with the HCO Scoutgards early on. I had four bad cameras in a row! Amanda finally sent me a covert and it worked great, right up until it was stolen last year. I prefer the style of camera that you have to the new ones- they are more compact.

Too bad you didn't get more pics- looks like it could have been a good spot!

There were a lot of problems with the HCO Scoutgards early on. I had four bad cameras in a row! Amanda finally sent me a covert and it worked great, right up until it was stolen last year. The newer Coverts are not as good as the older ones. Not sure if they switched manufacturers of internal parts or just have poor quality control. I sure hate to see a company take a step backwards.

Ya i know i was looking forward to more pics and never expected what happened...there were some big tracks coming in and wish i could of seen what was making them!

Yes I used to sell the Scoutguards. That's what I started with, but Scoutguard would not allow me to sell the Coverts in addition to the Scoutguards and that didn't set well with me, so I chose to go with the Coverts.
