I have hunted around the Arivaca,AZ area for whitetail and Javalina way back in the 60's. I was 10 yrs.old til I was 17.My dad was best friends with Ed Stockwell ,this guy taught me how to hunt to bad he passed away young.After my many travels around America I have bought 5 acres and put in a well At Arivaca off of Hardsrable road. I like to start hunting again but it has been a long time since I've been around the area of Arivaca. Any one interested in a free spot to camp with water,plus I'm a great camp cook for some hunting partner let me know.Greg

Lots of deer around Arivaca, along with UDA's & drug runners. Just head back to the oaks and you will find a bunch of coues, the mule deer prefer the desert flats.

Were would I find maps of Arivica Area for oaks. Nonprivate land,open range land,head toward Ruby?

Ruby Rd seemed to me to get a lot more hunters so I hunted the N side of the mtns. Try Wide World Of Maps or usgs.gov to buy maps. Not all water and roads are on the 7.5 quads but you will have fun drawing them in.

If you were around Stockwell much then you probably know my entire family. The Schaffners worked his bees fro many years and lived at the first white house on the left as you enter Arivaca..

World of Maps is the place to go, they are great and very helpfull. Unless you don't mind spending big money you can buy one of the new GPS units with Topo's of your hunting unit.
