the meaning of life

Recommended Posts

our granddaughter got sick a week ago sunday. ended up in the hospital with what they said was the croup. kept getting worse, instead of better. after quite a few tests a ct scan revealed, of all the crazy things, that her pulmonary artery had somehow grown around her trachea and was choking her. her 6 month birthday is friday. she had surgery today. had to do the heart/lung bypass deal, cut all her ribs, section her trachea to remove the deformed part and relocate the artery then put her all back together. she's gonna have a week or so of icu and should get to go home after that. surgery was a resounding success. her parents, and my wife and i for the most part, have lived in the hospital for about 10 days now. been about as stressful as anything i've ever had to deal with. but because of a lot of spiritual experiences, it's been a very rewarding time also. really brought an already very tight family even closer. got to know our son in law and his family even better and get even closer them. just a lot of very special things. we had written off the colorado goat hunt that starts saturday, but it looks like we'll at least make it before the season ends for 4 or 5 days. anyway she is gonna be fine and i ain't lookin' for one bit o' sympathy. we've been so blessed these past days that we don't need any. just want all you knotheads to realize what is truly important and what really means something. Lark.

I hate to hear you've been going through all this Lark.

Here's to a full 100% recovery to your granddaughter.

Good luck on your Colorado hunt and thanks for reminding us to appreciate our time here.

Seems like I've been reminded of that a lot recently.

I'll pray for her continued improvement. What a thing for a little baby to have to go through. Nice to hear it drew your family closer together and it's always good to be reminded about what's important in life!
