cactusjack Report post Posted September 25, 2010 Went to the range this morning to check the zero on my Tikka. When I first bought it 5 years ago it didn't group very well and I was going to send it back to Beretta to have them fix it. There is a MOA guarantee on the Tikka. Limbsaver sent me a DeResonator along with a buttpad for it about 2 years ago and now it shoots pretty well. I shoot Winchester 180gn Silver Ballistic Tips, other people have told me they have trouble getting them to group, but my rifle seems to be happy. Here are some pics. It has a Mark 4 4.5x14 on it, distance 100 yards, pretty gusty.

antlers Report post Posted September 26, 2010 looks like it shoots fine to me. Pretty gusty? Is that why that one is off? HaHa.
cactusjack Report post Posted September 26, 2010 I only shot the three rounds, I was just checking that it wasn't bumped on my last hunt. I don't reload and at $2 a shot, I don't want to waste ammo. I will put a Timney trigger in it after my Nov 33 WT hunt.

cactusjack Report post Posted September 27, 2010 Thank you. I think it is funny how well that 450 dollar rifle shoots and with factory ammo and I'm building a custom 300 Tejas to try to get better. Some people are just never satisfied!!!!
hawkeye Report post Posted September 28, 2010 My tikka win mag. didn't group very well when I bought it last year. I found the barrel was making contact with the stock and called berretta to make sure it was supposed to be a floating barrel. They said yes and to send it to them and they would fix it. I just got out the sand paper and took care of the problem and it shoots lights out now.
cactusjack Report post Posted September 28, 2010 For the $ its tough to beat a Tikka. I would like a metal trigger guard but that wasn't a deal breaker. Glad to hear yours is shooting well now.
luvdemcoues Report post Posted October 18, 2010 I just reload some bergers for my tikka 270 wsm and sighted them in. They shoot great. I also put a deresonator on mine. Now it is shooting a lot better. I love those tikkas.
rclouse79 Report post Posted October 18, 2010 Nice shooting! I was excited to see this post after taking my tikka 270 to the range today. I bought a de resonator, but have not tried it out yet because I am reloading and wanted to test powder amount and seating depth first. I loaded up a group of barnes 130 gr ttsx bullets and shot a 4 shot group of 0.610 inches that could be covered up with a quarter. I was happy, but am still going to try the de resonator to see if I can do even better. My question to you Tikka guys is did you play around with the position of the de resonator on the barrel? I noticed in the picture it is closer to the stock, but in the directions it said to position it closer to the end of the barrel for a free floated gun. I have read reviews where guys have put it on to see no improvement, and then they move it an inch as see thier groups tighten dramatically. On a side I added a Karsten adjustable cheek peice and love it. It is awesome to rest your cheek and get a perfect sight picture through your scope instantly.
